A) FORMAT

All MS glossaries have the same format/number of columns. They are: Source Term, US Hot key, Target term, Hot Key, Category, Type, Environment, Product, Comment, and Definition.

Categories: The following abbreviations are used in the Category column.

GEN 	General terms used in the documentation, not in the interface, 
	but specific to software and hardware.
MNU	Menu name on the menu bar
COM 	Command in a menu
DIA 	Dialog box item in a dialog box: group label, list box label 
	(NOT dialog box title, buttons, check box or option box 	labels: see TDB, BUT, CHX, OPT)
TDB 	Title of a dialog box
BUT 	Command Button label
CHX	Check box label (square shape)
TXB	Text box label (rectangle where the user enters text)
OPT 	Option button (radio button) label (round shape)
ARG	Argument
ERR	Error message text
FIL	File name
FUN 	Function name
KEY 	Keyname of keys on the keyboard
MAC 	Macro name
TXT 	Text  for software strings (such as in a dialog box)

Environment: The following abbreviations are used in the environment column:
	DOS
	WIN
	MAC

Products: We use a "logical" abbreviation for our product name, such as: WW6 (Win Word 6), XL5 (Excel 5), WFW311 (Windows for Workgroups 3.11), NT31 (Windows NT 3.1), etc.

Hot Keys: This column contains the hotkey of the translated word. Only 
character is used.

Type: We use the following:   
N=Noun, V=Verb, A = Adjective, Fem= Feminine, Mas=Masculine, Neu=Neuter
